It is a little known fact that your cars air conditioning system is not part of any regular servicing schedule.To run effectively and efficiently it is advisable to get the system serviced every 2 years. Air conditioning systems leak the refrigerant gas up to 20% per year due to a number of reasons.The vehicles engines vibrate, pipework moves and the rubber 'O' rings expand and contract and because of the high pressure in the system allow leakage of the refrigerant gas and system oil. When the gas pressure levels get low the system will shut down. The biggest threat to the air con system is the lack of compressor oil. When you lose gas you will also lose oil and if the oil is not replaced at regular servicing intervals the compressor will eventually stop and possibly seize up with very costly consequences. Preventative maintenance is cheaper than a costly cure!!

Using specialist equipment we will recover any old refrigerant, if there is no pressure at all in the system we will pressure test with Nitrogen to 150 p.s.i.to check for leaks, deep vacuum the system for 20-30mins to remove air and moisture (recommended by manufacturers), add ultra violet dye, top up the compressor oil with correct grade of compressor oil and recharge(regas) with the manufacturers recommended level of refrigerant, check working pressures and delivery temperatures and dispose of any old refrigerant in accordance with environmental Protection Act 1990 sections 33 and 34. We recommend this service be done every 2-3 years. Beware of some companies who will offer a cheap regas with no pressure testing and little or no evacuation and the consequences are that if the moisture is not fully removed the compressor oil in your system will react with the moisture and create acids that will corrode your system from within which eventually will cause leaks under the high pressures associated with air conditioning systems.

For an additional charge an antibacterial deoderising service is also available to kill off the bacteria and bad odour associated with air conditioning systems. We also recommend a replacement of your cabin/pollen filter every 2 years which if not changed at regular servicing intervals will become blocked and effect the performance of the heating and ventilation system and is essential if you suffer from hay fever and other allergies. The pollen filter removes soot, road dust, pollen and other harmful particles before it enters the passenger compartment, increases riding comfort and keeps the interior of the car cleaner.
